I lead engineering at OurRitual, where we build AI-driven products for couples therapy — which means I spend my days with clinicians, arguing about what a system should remember and when it should keep its mouth shut. Before that I was Head of Data & AI at retrain.ai, running three teams across data platforms and ML in production, and before that I co-founded a startup and learned most of what I know the expensive way. Lately I've been writing about memory architecture and what it's actually like to work alongside agents every day — including the parts that go badly. I have a wife, two teams, and one agent, and all of them require different kinds of honesty.
