I work at a company that builds a couples-therapy platform. So when I found myself fighting with my agent again, it hit me: what if I applied the principles we teach couples to this relationship? Because here is what was happening. I would curse at it, it would over-explain itself, I was convinced it was an idiot, and its answers fed my anger. I was treating it like a junior who could not keep up - reviewing every line, shipping one PR a day. So I brought it to our clinical team, who do this with real couples daily, and together we translated it into daily work with an agent: sit down after a fight, look at the cycle instead of the incident, have each side own its part. What came out of that, technically: a mechanism that lets the agent admit it is stuck without halting the process, and an explicit agreement on how uncertainty gets disclosed instead of bluffed. From 1 PR a day to 3-4. You will leave with tools for working with your agents, and maybe with your actual partner too.
