Quantum computers are actually slower!

"Quantum computers (QCs) are faster because they try all options in parallel", we've all heard that trope at some point, but is it any true? This session aims to bust a few very common quantum myths that are widely spread in science journalism and social media. We will address 3 myths that are intertwined: (a) QCs are “faster”, (b) QCs try all possible paths in superposition, and (c) QCs will solve every hard problem from climate change to optimization. This lightning session will not include any math, or “intro to QC”. It aims to leave the audience a bit less clueless about this exciting paradigm.
