There has never been a better time to build something on the side. AI has dramatically lowered the cost of turning an idea into a real product, and suddenly everyone is trying. But when you already have a full-time job, building is only half the challenge - the real constraint is your attention. Drawing from my own experiments building and running multiple side projects with AI, I’ll share what worked, what failed, and what I learned along the way: how to choose projects that won’t become a second job, delegate more than just coding to AI, automate as much as possible, and build the tools and controls that let you keep things running without constantly being there.
